This roll is full of heavenly smoked salmon, soft cream cheese, fresh chives and cucumber and rolled in delicate micro herbs.
After our recent customer survey it appeared many of our customers love what’s typically known as a Philadelphia roll. This mainly consists of smoked salmon and cream cheese, however we like to go the extra mile and add our own ‘Feng factor’ to make it taste even more special.
How does this roll taste so good?
The answer lies in the salmon… freshly farmed sustainably in Scotland, the salmon is then taken to the Severn & Wye Smokery located in Caxhill, Gloucestershire. The smokery is located in the beautiful Forest of Dean and when our Head of Production David Wright visited the Smokery he found it to be a very special place with the air filled with sweet smokey aromas.
Severn & Wye Smokery
Their production techniques and smoking process are still very traditional and their grading, filleting, curing and cutting are still mostly done by hand. They chip their own wood for smoking, which gives smoked products a unique and distinctive taste.
Over the past 20 years, the smokery has been working tirelessly to limit their impact on the environment and have only felled 5 oak trees and have replaced them with 350 British deciduous trees (oak, horse chestnut, ash and cider fruit).
Successfully, the Severn & Wye Smokery have secured their MSC certification for fresh and smoked fish products – congratulations!
It’s time to try it…
